Insurance for Egyptians working abroad
A new insurance umbrella launched by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with the Financial Regulatory Authority, designed to protect Egyptians working abroad against personal accidents, wrongful termination, and death. The policy is implemented through the Egyptian Pool for Travel Insurance (EPTI) and is available as a voluntary policy at a nominal subscription fee.
Coverage:
- 100,000 EGP — Wrongful termination or mass deportation for political or economic reasons
- 250,000 EGP — Permanent total disability resulting from an accident
- 250,000 EGP — Repatriation of remains to Egypt in the event of death (or the equivalent amount granted to heirs if they choose not to repatriate)
